It's the year 2000. You have an old PC, a garage, and a dream: to make games for a living.

Garage Dev is a cozy pixel-art life sim about making games. Start small in your garage, release your first games, read the reviews, upgrade your PC part by part, and try to turn a hobby into a career — while Mom keeps telling you to find a real job.

This demo covers your first four years (2000–2003).

What you can do:

• Make your own games: pick the genre, topic, format and platforms, then spend your focus points

• Follow the reviews, the sales and the weekly Top 10

• Research new tech and build your own engine

• Upgrade your PC by hand: buy parts and install them in the case

• Take freelance jobs, study, or take a week off

• Compete with rival studios, book a booth at the Game Expo, and go for Game of the Year

• Move out of the garage into your own apartment

• A ginger cat that decides it lives with you now

• A quiet story about you and your mother (you can turn it off)

The full game goes on until 2030: your own studio, a team, 3D, and the rest of the story.
